GOLDEN, CO

Five people were injured after two vehicles collided head-on while driving on a rainy US 6 Sunday afternoon.

The crash involved a minivan and a Nissan Xterra, according to a 9NEWS reporter on the scene. CSP says the minivan crossed the center line.

US 6 was closed from Golden to CO 119 during the investigation. It reopened by around 3:30 p.m.

Authorities say the person riding the Xterra did not have their seatbelt on.

The Colorado Department of Transportation recommends using Interstate 70 as an alternate route for the rest of the afternoon.
